The Kenya Sex Workers Alliance (KESWA) is an umbrella body for the sex workers led groups and organisations dedicated to strengthening the voices of sex workers and empowering their health and human rights in Kenya.
We were established in 2010 and registered as a Non-Governmental organisation in 2013, according to Kenyan law. KESWA recognises diversity, thus includes female sex workers (FSWs), male sex workers (MSWs), transgender sex workers (TSWs), sex workers who use and inject drugs, sex workers living positively, migrant sex workers and refugee sex workers in Kenya. For a decade since our formation, we have worked with sex workers to create sex worker led organisations and group in all the 47 counties, consequently building a strong national sex worker movement with a membership of over 75 organisations.
